Francis Bolt Born in Lerwick, Shetland on 7 August, 1805.
A Blacksmith and Crofter at Smithfield, Sandness, Wall, Shetland (1851, 1861 census), he moved to Lerwick and had a workshop situated on the crossroads running from 14 Reform Lane to the top of Park Lane.
Francis first married Alice Tait in March 1829 the marriage was short, Alice aged just 23, died on 17 January 1833 at Lerwick, Shetland. Francis second marriage was to Elizabeth Gilbertson on 27 November 1834 they had three children; Helen, William and Archibald. Elizabeth died 7 September 1874 aged 79 in the town of Lerwick, Shetland.
on 29 May 1876 Francis married Agnes Tulloch at Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand
Francis died in New Zealand at Taieri Beach in January 1898 he was 93.
